1996 were you able to get any pictures? On a bagger I'd go with the Vthunder 3010 since you are doing head work and bumping compression.

OK, 1996, are you still with us? Please excuse all the noise.

Or if you have already given up ...

Default Newbee is back

First let apologize to the GRAMMER POLICE, I dropped out of high school to go defend our USA, ( I had my 18th birthday in boot camp ) so I think if misuse a word here and there at least we're still speaking English.

And I'm through with that subject.

I'm going to try to post some pictures this weekend.
9.5 compression, .010 cleaned the jugs nice, I found some strips of rubber inside of the breather body, I hope it's from the valve cover gaskets. The farther I go, the more I find.
I'm going to try and write more and get the pics on this week end. Thanks for all the info and the links. Very helpful.
Yes I do still have my first Harley, it's a 1996 Sportster with almost 80,000 miles on it, all with me riding it, I bought it in 96.
I know that I'm jumping around a lot, but a lot of you posted and I'd like to answer everybody that has taken time to help me. I should have more time this weekend.

In fact, we are trapped inside this server farm in the middle of Utah answering questions, and they won't let us out. If you get a message to my family, I will be very grateful. We're kind of POWMIA.

As with anything to do with H-D, you really cannot take any numbers for granted, so if you want to work them out nicely (compression, squish etc) you're going to have to measure them. Everything. Of course it will run without doing so but there's a lot of improvements to be made.

For example, you say 9.5 - good choice - but you're probably down at 8 something. Typical voodoo involves 30 thou head gaskets, 10 thou base gaskets, measuring combustion cambers and trimming cylinders ... if you enjoy that kind of stuff.

Ask an expert, they'll tell you you need north of Nine to make it kick its heels and those cams are fine with it.

There's a guy in the cabinet next to us who does the math for something called, Big Boyz Compression calculator. He'll be your best friend too.

As for war, what's the point in defending the nation if one does not defend the standards of its written language? Grammar ***** are your brothers, but on a different front (and, let's face it, the war has been lost over the spoken language).

I always thought the biggest lesson the military had to offer was, never trust a Supreme Commander who cannot form coherent sentences.
"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.

- George W.
Unfortunately, neither Obama's grammar, nor his current policies are much better.

But there was another Bushism that I agreed with, about how "Free nations are peaceful nations. Free nations don't attack each other. Free nations don't develop weapons of mass destruction."

I'm just not sure where he meant. Perhaps somewhere in Scandinavia?

There's a lot of good chopper builders and blondes in Scandinavian (though not all Scandinavian blondes are equal).

The Scandinavians have their own particular style. Something to do with once having ruled Europe and beyond - and discovering America first - by long boats, they build very clean long bikes to remind them.

Really America should not be called America (after Amerigo Vespucci), it should be called the United States of Erik (after Leif Erikson), but "Erica" just didn't sound right for the name of a country, so they re-wrote history to suit.

And screw Columbus Day too. He could not tell Cuba from Sri Lanka.
