My clutch works fine but..when the bike is cold it chirps when starting/engaging from a dead stop. It has been doing this a long time but, as it's getting colder out it seems to last a little longer. What is that? Once the bike is fully hot it quiets down.
It is your belt slipping on the trans pulley, kinda like a violin effect. Belt is getting older and harder, temperature is also making it harder. When you slow down to a stop using gearing, it will do it worse because the belt walks some and walks the other way when you take of, I have actually pulled the clutch back in because i thought something was wrong.

I'm pretty sure it's not the belt. When I start it up from cold I let it warm up a bit, usually quite a bit. Then kick it into first and let out the clutch it makes a sort of rubbing chirp sound. It will do it the first couple of times and then not again all day unless things get bone cold again. There's no diminished clutch function. Wondering if maybe a warped clutch plate would cause that.
Still thinking it's the belt until you eliminate the possibility by lubricant or spray of some sort.
Start small with process of elimination.Does it make the noise before the bike starts to roll while letting out the clutch?
