Default Recommend a good Air Cleaner Assembly

I want to replace the butt ugly Hypercharger A/C on my Evo and would like a good recommendation. I'd like something that doesn't stick out too much. Something chrome with good airflow. Needs to fit a 44mm CV carb. I was thing about a Ness Big Sucker but they look like they are pretty tall. Thanks

If you go ahead and get the S&S that you were thinking about in the other thread it comes with it's own air cleaner.

I ditched my Hypercharger for a Ness Big Sucker. It was well worth it, good quality and no breather hoses to deal with.

Stock box...with some strategically placed holes in the housing for more air...and a K&N...even the S&S comes with a Sponge instead of an air cleaner...Crap!!!!
But the S&S box is a good one..and they make a backing plate for the CV...add K&N and go...if ya wanna be as different as everyone else with a TearDrop air cleaner!!!!

You're running a 44mm CV on that scoot? Is it fairly stock as that could be part of your stumbling issue you are also talking about?

The last S&S Super E I bought came with a K&N Filter.

Griz, I am guessing that it is a 44mm CV. When I bought a carb to air cleaner gasket for a 1989 FLHTC, it was too small. I had them give me one for a 1993 model which is larger and it was the size I needed. Didnt the CV come in 40mm and 44 mm ? A stock air cleaner from a 1989 model will not fit my bike either.

I actually love the look of the S&S teardrop AC myself. It would probably be a good fit for the rest of the styling of my bike as it has a classic look. Didnt know they made one for a stock CV though. I'll check that out.

Pretty sure 89 came with a butterfly carb and yours has been upgraded to a CV...... almost certainly a 40. That's why the 89 gasket won't fit.
