cutting stock pushrods
Hi, I've seen conflicting info reading up in prep for my cam change....seems like I saw where the lifters have to be on the base lobe before cutting the pushrods an I've read where others just cut all 4 at once....does it matter, is one way preferred? thanks for any help!
The point of base circle is to relieve the pressure that's on the rods as you cut them. I think its easier to rotate the motor to get there rather than all 4 at once. (Bolt cutters.)
I did mine that way.
LOL just like I've read....conflicting opinions! thanks....nice to know I'm good either way. I have to borrow bolt cutters....I'm hoping my future son in law gets his snap on bearing puller set soon so I don't have to go rent one.

Oddly...I still have the stock pushrods that work just fine with my new Cam!!!!
BTW...The cam bearing can go either way...but needs to go facing the writing because it is manufactured to Push on that end...thicker cup...

Writing facing you on the cam bearing. Also make sure if you aren't using a bearing installer that you don't sink it too far. I sunk mine to the shoulder and ended up renting the tool again and buying another bearing. The install tools have a lip so they won't sink it too far.
Can I ask why you shouldn't use an angle grinder? I'm asking because I already have lol. I plugged up the push rod holes with rubber gloves before doing so if that counts.
