footboard bracket keeps two into one from going on

Default footboard bracket keeps two into one from going on

am I missing something? I'm trying to install a 2 into 1 v&h head pipe an the footboard bracket is in the way....is that normal? what has to be done to remove it? I took the board off but it's not enough.

They are held in with large screws from the inner side of the frame. To see what you're up against take a look at this on-line parts website, for exploded diagrams of the frame and footboards.

I didn't see anything in the parts pic that helped....good try though.

You haven't told us what model and year bike, so try harder to use the link I gave ya. Take a look at the footboards diagram, find the footboard brackets and their mounting screws and remove them. They are items #3 on most years. Simples!

You haven't told us what model and year bike ... Yep ... Wouldn't it be nice if all put the make year and model of their current ride in their signature?

Having a FatBoy myself, i do know that certain manufacturers design head pipes specifically for floor boards and specifically for forward controls. I would recheck the model number on the pipes to make sure you have the correct ones.....

I got it used off ebay an I was thinking I got the wrong one.

Can you get the model number and maybe post a pic? also email the seller and find out if it came off a softail with forward controls. I would try to send it back myself. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish the differences between some pipes. Hope you get it figured out...

Also isn't that right mount welded to the lower rail?
