I have a 91 Ultra Classic and I notice today that when I was warming up the bike I was checking headlights, both turn signals and the running lights. All lights worked good. Well, took off to work on bike made a couple of stops on the way to work had to make some turns and like a good biker I used my turn signals and they were good on the blinking right. But I had to stop and get gas, so that was a right hand turn the blinker worked. Got gas drove off and had to make a left hand turn at traffic light press left switch and the blinker came but it was like a slow blink to nothing, when I turned it came on blinking fine then as normal so far down the road it went off. So as I was riding to work I just pressed the left turn signal and slowed down and no turn signal came on but when I speed up it stated blinking and the right turn signal did that also but 1 time. Any suggestions? Does anyone know if it would be the turn signal relay or fuses?
It's not going to be a fuse. Check your voltage at the battery when the bike is running. Check the bulbs. After that, I'm not sure if you have the computer control or the simple blinker module, but I would look at whichever one you have. If you have the computer control, then people here have been pleased with the Badlands module.
The hd shop thats near me said that I have the simple blinker module. Which I remember the guy that I bought it from said he hadn't even rode it or started it in like 6 months - 1yr because he bought a newer model ultra classic. But I'll check volts on Battery and bulbs to see if loose, but it's been on a batt tender for almost a week because I was out of town and the Battery was dead one morning when I went to start it to ride to work.
If you don't get about 14V at the battery with it running and at around say 1500 RPM, then go through the sticky at the top of the forum.
The blinker thingies do get old and not want to blink. You can replace them with a modern all electronic version for a few dollars from any auto parts store.
My 1990 still has an open recall for the turn signal module, it used to describe the recall, now it just gives you a NHTSA #, mine is dated 12/18/90, the NHSTA# is 91v-001
Ok Thank You for all Ya'lls help I very much appreciate it. Schexe3x my 91 Ultra looks just like your minus grips, rims and pipes. Your bike looks great. I'll check everythink out and let ya'll know what I find
Schex3e I looked at recalls and the only one listed is a 92v-173, but it doesn't stated what it is. It just recommends to bring bike to hd dealer to look or fix. Any Idea what that is?
