almost done with my evo bobber build...need to order throttle cable...I have a ironhead throttle assembly at the bars and a super e....do I just order a 48" ironhead throttle cable? or does it have to be specific ironhead to super e
ok..I ordered a Harley ironhead 48" cable....any chance if u know what cable guide on the carb it uses? the one with one short one long guide? or the one with 2 long guides?
The first picture is the cable guide bracket for an S&S carb that allows you to use stock cables, the second picture is for the S&S carb using S&S cables. The first picture is what comes with the newer S&S carbs and the second picture what came with the older S&S carbs.
I recently replaced my throttle and idle cables on my 98 Fatboy with an old style S&S E series carb and upgraded to the new style cable guide bracket so I could order regular cables. The bracket was something like ten bucks on Amazon and well worth it.
You can order cables from S&S and just use the bracket you have already, or even order cables from Magnum Shielding that are the S&S style and still use your old bracket too.
Here is the part number I ordered on Amazon and find it is now fifteen bucks:
