^^^ I didn't realize those mufflers are new... I could not get mine to slide out but mine with no baffle on the right sounds about perfect to me so I'm good to go (until I fool around again, I'm always fooling with my bike).
If I was you I'd remove the glass from the right muffler and see what you think. Wear gloves of course, it's easy enough to put back if you don't like it.
I'm going to suggest 1. you're going to like it with no glass, and 2. it's going to take a very long time for that glass to "burn out". There's a reason they use it in mufflers - it lasts a long time!
Now of course if you're dumping so much fuel in your engine you have flames coming out the exhaust that's something else, or, if you do like we did as kids, drop it down to second, turn off the ignition, pump the carb a few times, then turn the ignition on to hear the car go BANG and shoot out flames.... that will blow out your mufflers pretty quickly.
And it'll blow out your head gaskets too if you do it too many time we found out.
Yeah, I found them in Arkansas, brand new in the box for $225.00. Still had the Harley-Davidson Kerker labels on them. Seemed like a good deal. I dont think I'll have the patience to wait for the glass to burn it self out. Im a constant tinkerer myself
