It's your bike and you need to resolve the paint 'issue' you have raised to your contentment so it won't eat at you. That said, think about leaving it as you've found it. This would be admitting, to some degree, that it's not really 'yours', but you are only its care-taker for a time. Someone 'owned' it before you...if you take good care of it, someone will 'own' it after... Motorcycles (and other works of art) have a life of their own.

Thanks everyone, sorry I didnt make myself clear. The OG blue paint on the bike is faded so I wanted to have the blue repainted keeping it original.
Great looking bike. Like others have said do with it what you will, but keep in mind it can only be "original" once. And....once you repaint it is no longer "original".

Well Put!
I would always take a "survivor" over ****ered with...I mean Restored...Whatever that is....
Hey guys I just picked up this FXRD off a buddy of mine, has 50k miles, runs fantastic, all original. is it possible to only repaint the blue on the bike? the grey has all of the emblems that say Grand Touring
Awesome ride Joe, congrats! I'd suggest just riding & enjoying it "as-is" for now. No need to make any immediate decisions. But to answer your question, yes, repainting only the blue can be done. It's a pretty simple and fairly inexpensive procedure as well. I paint, restore & repair paint for a living, so I do have insight on this topic.
