Default Thank you!

I had the toughest time trying to get a K&N oil filter off of my bike last night! After the 17mm bolt on the outside stripped from too much elbow grease. That frekin thing was on there tight!!! I did a forum seach and it was a god sent. I used the end cap oil filter remover with 2 wood screws through the cap and into the filter. Worked like a charm!!. Don't know who came up with that method but I am glad they did!

Good to know,
I don't usually use them, but I just put a K&N on my TC, got it from local parts store in a pinch, and it kept seeping from the gasket, took it off, nothing obviously wrong, so I cranked down on it, it sealed, but I know it's not coming off with the hex on the end.

I guess the K is for Korea, and the N is for not coming off with the hex.

My go-to solution for hopeless oil filters has always been a really big screwdriver and a really big hammer. Punch the screwdriver through the side of the filter, let it drain, then crank it out with the screwdriver.

Works every time.

On my 97 eglide there is an oil cooler and a brake resovior in the middle of the down tubes even with them both unbolted the is no room to pull once the screwdriver is punched through. Works like a charm on the fxr though

Punched a few myself, big azz channel-lock works good too, but this thing is buried behind a Jagg fan assist oil cooler and voltage regulator, don't feel like taking stuff apart when it needs to come off.
