Default Question about oil lines

I've ran into a problem on 1990 FLHTC. Was changing fittings on the oil lines at the pump they were dry rotted and broke. I'm glad it happened now instead of while riding it. My problem is I can't find the oem oil lines with the 90 degree turns for it, also looked for oil line kits . I figured it would be hard but I've called everywhere no luck. My alternative is the Russell 90 degree hose fittings and standard oil hose. These will fix my problem with the connections into the pump and motor, I'm afraid of getting a bend somewhere else in the non formed hoses and seize the motor I just rebuilt or am I being overly cautious. Any body have any advice or dealt with something similar.

Just started thinking about this also with the 98 ultra. Was wondering if I could use the high pressure fuel line I have used on some late model engine swaps in the street rods .It doesn't seem to kink.....guess time will tell

go to any ordinary hardware store for 90 degree brass fittings. i used the regular fuel rubber hose on my 85 about 7 or 8 years ago without any problems. there have been thousands and thousands shovels, pans and knucks that have used ordinary fuel lines for years.

While that have been true in the past, the cheap Chinese fuel hose that they sell at parts stores now days will not stand up to oil at all...for about the same price you can get oil rated hose...ie transmission cooler hose...at any parts store if you are making your own.

Started this thread a while back. There's some good info and some links to items purchased dealing with oil lines on my 1991 EGC. I have yet to replace mine, but have everything in hand for when the time comes.

I've had simple rubber oil hoses for years, without any metal elbows, and no problems.
