FYI, I found 2 oz capacity syringes at my local feed store yesterday for $1.00 each. Add a piece of 8" vacuum hose and you have a nice way of accurately measuring and adding the amount of Sea Foam that you need to your fuel and oil tank. No worry of spilling any on the paint too.
When gas hit $4 a gallon the Seafoam sales went thru the roof. Everyone who ever owned a small rice burner was dragging it out of the garage and getting them running to save some coin.
Friend who runs a small shop would drain the tank, add fresh gas and some Seafoam and run it a little. Let it sit a day or so and run it more each day.
About day 5 they will run on their own and you can take them out on the road and ride them to really clean them out. I know he did this to about a half dozen with great results.
I run a can once a year thru my car and SUV just cause.
Griz
5 days? I would rather just clean the fuel system and be running in a couple hours, with no risk of running it lean.
Well, it's a one man shop with about 20 bikes in line to be repaired, so he does this to get them ready for when their time comes to be worked on. This way, they're halfway there already and running when he gets to them.
He's got big paws like I do, so the small bikes with multiple carbs are rough to get to for him.
I don't argue with his methods as he knocks 'em out at a good pace.
