Cam install?
Are EVO cam installs difficult? I'm by no means a beginner mechanic, but I've never installed a camshaft before. I have plenty of tools, and will purchase cam install tools..... Just curious of the pitfalls associated. Recommendations are welcome, looking for some more low end punch in my 88" Revtech.

IMO a blind drunk monkey could do it.
A couple of things to pay attention to-
1 End play of new cam
2 Make sure you put in a torrington bearing
3 There are 2 longer bolts in the cam chest, make sure they go back into the holes they come out of or it will leak
You do have the FSM right?
No.

3 year + restoration on my 91 Ultra. I wrenched almost the complete resto by myself using the Factory Manual and receiving THOUSANDS of words of help and advice from Texas Hill Country and many, many others in this excellent Forum who kept me "going" with excellent tips and advice.

Oh I forgot that you're a Brit.
Y'all are known to drive on the wrong side of the road and drink warm beer so I guess anything is possible!!!!

I found a difference when going above 50mph on a Motorway/Freeway. The original Evo 1340 motor pulled EASILY and WITHOUT HESITATION to 90mph +. I cant say for sure if I noticed a great difference in the Perfomance from 0-50.mph and thats not what I was looking for but overall I have to admit I am WELL PLEASED with the EV27 Cams performance and the NEW TORRINGTON INNER BEARING. Cam swaps are a piece of cake... You can even do it without having to remove the lifters, although the pushrods do need pulling (and I am assuming adjustable). Mind you if its your first then you do need to remove the lifter blocks to ensure that the Can end play is set up correctly.
Also its far easier to press the gear off the old cam and onto the new one - that way you do not have to worry about pinion gear sizing etc with the new cam.
yell out if you need help as I have swapped out my cam about 4 times over the years (Stock => EV35 => S&S Stock => EV31 => EV3)
