Got it all back together yesterday and put about 75 miles or so on it. Seems to be fine now . I'm fixing to head out with a friend and put a few more miles and splatter a few more bugs today. Thanks to all that chimed in.

Just wanted to give an update. I have put quite a few miles on her and ride almost every day and it shifts fine. Not sure what the problem was but its not giving me any problems going into first now. Sometimes when down shifting from third to second I have to rev the engine a little to get it to drop in to second but no biggie. All smiles on my end now.
