Default Fuel tank float

What creative solutions have you guys come up with when you have a good sender but a sunken float? Anyone use cork? What did you seal it with? Any other ideas appreciated,

Carb? Yes, little one. Won't gas eat up a condom, especially the ethanol stuff? I ended up removing the float, drilled a couple holes, made sure it was empty, and used fuel tank repair crap to fill the holes and both ends. If it sinks again, I'm no worse off. Next time I'll try a cork and paint it with something.

The mounting application would dictate choice.
Consider going to ebay and type gasoline float.
Plastic and brass are also available and might present a better choice over cork.

Been there. I'm too impatient to wait on shipping and such. It's not a big deal, it holds 3.16 gallons, and I get 65 mpg, so it's not hard to keep track of, I just want it to work.

I'll find one. Going to lawnmower repair shot tomorrow and see if they can help. It's a Honda clone, so I think a float off a Honda bike will probably work. I see a sending unit for a Honda on eBay for about $6, just hope the float floats!

It's actually a lot of fun! I miss the old Harley, but this thing is small, light and nimble. It gets up to 60mph pretty quick.
