EVo Purchase?
Awww, I feel so insulted.... I would guess that if there was an exhaust system for my bike that would look great, sound great, perform better(one more hp maybe) then I would probably beat the **** out of it !!!
However, a twenty year old dude with drags will want attention and keep the throttle open, so age of rider should be a factor also..

For 4700 it's not a bad deal as long as it wasn't beat to ****..... Offer 4300 and you walk with a smile.... Real question is how long and how well do you know your neighbor? If you do know him well them it's a no brainer....
I bought my first Harley several months back and it is a 85 FXST. I paid $4800 and drove three and a half hours each way to get it. Two weeks later it blew a head gasket and it needed a new stator when I got it. I did all the wrenchin myself and got her running and am not disappointed at all. I didn't get the deal of a life time but don't feel like I was robbed either. The guy I bought it from only had it a year so I chalk the whole ordeal up as an learning experience. I beat it up on it some and cruise it mostly. By the way I put rivets even though they are not the correct ones back in my cover after I drilled the originals out.
I would also like to see some pictures of it !!

It's a fair retail price, not a good deal price. The base price for an Evo FXSTs is about $4,500. Meaning that whether its an 1986 or 1996, it's worth about $4,500.
If you like the bike a lot and plan to keep it, then offer $4,500. If you are looking for a good deal that will more likely take up space in your garage, I would pass and wait for 1998 at about the same price.

My thoughts exactly.
If this bike isn't sending you into fits of lust, let it go. The right one will come along.
