should you wait to order rings an pistons until you remove the jugs an check for how they're wearing...I don't know how likely it is the cyl wear an will need to be trued.
That is what I did, remove the jugs and mic them and then order the pistons and rings.

My 1996 EVO had 72,222 miles on it when I bought it in Aug, 2013, in July 2016 I had 91,850 miles on it, and had developed a base gasket leak/seep on the rear cylinder, I used that as a excuse to change the pistons. You couldn't tell if the engine had ever been apart, but my cylinders showed no ware at all, they miked at the new stock bore dimensions, 3.498". I have a good engine hone, Lisle I think, so I used my drill press and did the honing myself.

You can raise the cylinders and pull the wrist pins and leave the pistons inside the cylinders also. This way you can replace gaskets, etc. and not have to hone or replace rings.

The last time I bored I believe it was $160 but that included squaring up the base. I'm pretty sure that $400 cover pistons and rings and bore.
