Default forward controls krafteck frame

Is there a difference in the bolt spacing on forward controls depending on what it was intended for? I have an aftermarket frame and assume softail controls will fit but have found with about every part I buy I'm making custom mounts and then someone says if you would have bough the right parts to start with. Frame is a krafteck hatdtail. I have an 80 evo mounted in it. The fat Bob tanks were shovelhead flat side style.

Aftermarket parts just barely fit the HD frames, so be prepared to do this a lot in the coming days.

Seriously though, stuff is awful on how it bolts up nowadays. There really is no R&D other than us.

That 'someone' sounds like they are too bright for their own good! Certainly expecting Harley parts to fit a custom frame is asking too much IMHO, unless Kraft Tech claim they will fit. Have you checked their website or contacted them direct? They have a catalogue which includes forward controls. Might be a good place to start!

I built my entire softail around a kraftech frame using as many oem parts as I could, but it was also a kraftech evo softail frame. Is yours a rigid or a softail reproduction frame? If it was an evo era style frame it would have the proper mounts except the electrical panel and the oil filter mount (weld on oil filter mount used on older softail frame with the non engine case mounted filter mount)
