Default Help with turn signals.

I'm at my wits end on these! I'm trying to reinstall my stock turn signals instead of the crappy aftermarket ones that I never should have installed. I'm wiring them up single wire in the front so they are only turn signals ( no running lights)
Same with the rear. They were working and then just quit? I'm wondering if it has something to do with the self cancelling module. All my connections are good and I understand the body of the front t/s is the ground in the circuit. I HATE messing with electrical crap. This is driving me nuts!!! Any thoughts?
Thanks, Todd

It sounds like you rewired the signals and they were working. Then suddenly they all quit. My first thought is to check any related fuses. Then, recheck all your rewire work. Since/if all signals quit, it will be something common to front and back. If no obvious rewire flaw, then I'd start thinking about the module. Yours is like mine, mounted on the backbone on the right side, under the tank, on a '92. No magic bullet. I hate electrical work a little, too. But nothing to be done but to get the close-work glasses on, and DVM out, and get to it.

Alan

If the signals worked, then stopped, I would check for loose/faulty connections or a possible bad ground wire somewhere.

Don`t be a Hater...

Each signal has its own ground, it is unlikely that all four grounds failed at once.

Check the accessory fuse (tip: if the horn works, the fuse is good).

Remove the connector from the turn signal module, and check for voltage at the terminal for the orange wire.

Just went and checked the horn. The horn contact clicked but no sound. LOW BATTERY! I'm thinking (hoping) the low voltage is causing the signal flasher or module not to function properly. I put my battery tender on it. I'll check it in a few hrs. Todd

Well that was the problem! When I put the battery tender on it, I checked my battery voltage. It was 11.4V. Once it reached 12V everything started working as it should. All is good. Going to keep it charged up from now on. Thanks for the insights! Todd
