Anyone know which way the axle goes in on these swingarms?

......and there is a reason for placing nut on right side. Not sure of the model of your bike, or type of exhaust you are running.

On my 1990 FXRS, I run a staggered exhaust on the right side. Inserting or removing the axle from the right side, always interferes with my exhaust. Putting the nut on the right side, allows me to remove axle, without this interference. Watching someone use a broom stick to bend my exhaust, to remove my axle, caused me to change this when I returned from a trip.

FWIW, I think the factory delivers bike with axle nut on left hand side.

An FLH , exhaust on both sides, so I don't think the exhaust makes any difference.
