Hello Everyone!
My first post. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Question: When did HD begin using the "B" lifters in production EVO's?
I have a stock 1995 FLHT and I am wondering if it was shipped from the factory with the "B" lifters.
Thanks All!
Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF and the Evo mad-house! You can check stuff like that on-line here. There are several on-line parts websites with similar info. My link shows that your bike does have stock B lifters.
Aw what the heck, OP should have the correct info.
1995 EVO engine tappet part number 18523-86 (#34 in pic)
Above is a 2003 Twin Cam the part number is 18538-99B (part # 31). In 2002 the lifter part number was 18538-99A. So the correct answer to your question OP is EVOs didn't come with what has commonly become known as the "B lifter", that didn't come until the Twin Cam.

Not sure when they started using the "B" lifter but at a guess it would be sometime after '95.
It could have been sometime in the TC years but I don't know.
