Default primary chain inspection cover ???

I need to do the primary chain inspection and see if i can find the source of my leak. The cover gets a film of oil on it after a few hundred miles.

My questions.
1 Does the gaskets convex surface go in or out? Doesn't say in the manual and i have zero faith in the person who did the service before me as he stripped the oil drain plug.

2 Do i need any other gasket since i have mid controls?

3 In the service manual it talks about two round gaskets for screws 13-14 I'm assuming those aren't needed unless removing the chain case cover?
I just don't want to get things apart and need something i don't have or
leave something out that is already missing.

4I cant find shift lever torque value in my manual anyone happen to know?

95 low rider
Sorry for such basic ?? and i appreciate the help.

My FLHT calls for rubber seal washers on the screws, maybe missing them, supposed to use new every time. Mine loves to leave a lil primary oil on the floor, theres a quart and a half in there, I dont worry about too much, It isnt all leaking out.

I don't think it matters but I put mine convex side out.

Yep they go in between the inner and outer primary.
If you have been having someone else do your work are you sure they are there?

I did a fluid change shortly after getting it. I found the stripped oil plug and they had used the wrong torx on derby cover and stripped one of them.

With maintenance records provided doesn't appear anythings ever been done other than fluid, battery and hndlebar change.

Just finished 3500 mile trip amd wanted to chnge the fluids again and do the primary inspection while im at it.

I'm just doing all my own work from now on and a complete newb to it.

Only way to know if those two small round gaskets are there is to take off the outer primary.

You can try a new inspection cover gasket and see if that does it for you.
