Default Primary fluid level?

I'm changing the primary oil on my "new" bike. I've put in a full quart (32 oz) and the level is nowhere near the bottom of the clutch assembly. I'm afraid of overfilling. Anyone go well over a quart before?

Thanks!

If I remember right your book is gonna tell you 36-42oz.
It just needs to touch the very bottom of the clutch hub.

Thanks, Tex! Every post I found said 32 oz. Please don't shame me but my service manual is under my jiffy stand in an effort to level the bike out and I didn't want to move it with the derby cover off!

Hell all I use is 32 oz.
All it really does is get flung around by the starter ring gear and oil the chain.
The chain is the only thing in your primary that needs it.

A 2x4 would work better than your FSM for leveling your bike.JMO

No one can say you didn't use your service manual for the oil change

It ended up using about 42 oz before the fluid level came up to the bottom of the clutch assembly. No noticeable difference in clutch lever effort and neutral is still MIA most of the time when running. No big deal, just thought this may be an easy fix!
