Primary fluid level?

Man, you guys are confusing me. LOL

I filled it to just below the derby cover opening so the bottom of the clutch assembly (for lack of a more informed term), while somewhat level. That took just shy of a quart and a half. Do I need to drain and start over, filling it while on the stand?

Way too full!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously just dump in a quart and you will be good!!!

My 2002 Road King says to dump a quart in. I do this and have never seen the oil inside the derby cover. Bike works just fine. I have been using a quart for 225,000 miles now.

Find out what your owners manual says, do what it says and you will be just fine. Harley manuals are usually pretty dependable.

I have always just used one quart too, never any problems. Seems like if you use more than that, its getting to be a lot of oil for just sloshing around on a chain in there.

Yes, that absolutely does. Thank you very much. I think I went to the green line. Live and learn! Off to buy another quart of ATF.

Why waste it? Turkey baster or drain then add back the proper amount....
