I Kreemed the tanks on my Shovel over 15 years ago. The stuff held up fine and looked just like the day it cured. Longevity depends on application. If you skip a step ie...acid etch and\or failure to remove any oils that's what could happen. Damn good thing the screen kept that **** out, else you'd be throwing the carb out.

Proly didn't acid etch and application is everything. But that ethanol eats rubber hoses etc. makes me wonder.
Easy enough to unscrew the petcock and keep an eye on it every couple of months.
I used Kreem 1x and it f'd up 4 in line carbs. Ever since I just use white vinegar and water 50/50 .fill up the tank let it sit for a week. after 6-7 days looks like a new tank.
Never had the Kreem work for me or any of my riding buds who used it (at least 7 separate tanks). Same thing I am reading here. Pulling away, gumming up carbs, sticky floats, clogged jets, etc. Followed instructions every time. I think ethanol could be the issue.
Never had any problems with the epoxy type tank sealers and prep is the same as when using kreem. YD
On a 74 shovel i used to have the tanks has some sort of crap sealer in them. I used evaporust it removed the sealer and left the tank like new. I have no idea why they were sealed in the first place because they never leaked after that.
Everything is good as can be right now Mr Tony. I got all the loose stuff out and hope the pingle keeps doing its job. Im not going to worry about though, as much as was in there bike still ran like a hot rod. Pingle and S&S are hard to stop.
I did use my wet vac with a bit of water in it to vac out the GAS and sealer without any explosion's. Yep, I do take chances, but all good, had a fire extinguisher handy.
I have never had any luck with Kreem. I had the tank of my ironhead red koted quite a few years ago and it is beginning to erode away. I just did a Honda tank with Caswell's epoxy gas tank sealer and consider it to be the best out there. Prior to using Caswell's, I sprayed the tank with a garden hose real hard then put a handful of nails in it and shook it around real good, rinse repeat several times. Dry it well then apply Caswells. Next time I think I'll go the evaporust route. I've used that stuff for other things and it works very well.
