Default Tank Sealer

I had my gas tank sealed a couple years ago when I had the bike painted. Paint still looks new but the tank sealer failed.
The Pingle did a great job keeping the sealer out of the carb.

I was told by a long time HD mechanic not to seal aftermarket tanks. Guess this is why.

Yea, even though original epoxy sealer is started to separate, I don't think I'll doing anything to it. Except clean out the excess debre every winter. Not a single issue with the Pingel plugging up....

every one of them does that because of the gas we now have

the red coat is the only one that is holding up _ did i say nothing else

90 year old gas tanks are always an issue and my 1926 after a major tank repairs you could see through the tank bottoms ) 5 years ago is still as day one using the red coat, now we floated the solder over the entire insides to fix them then coated them

Yep, bike and carb is running great even with that much junk. I got most of it out on the right side of the tank but probably need to pull the gas gauge unit to get the left side better cleaned. For now I just washed the left side out with gas and put the Pingle back in.

Never heard of the red coat. I guess the ethanol is the destroyer, damn stuff tears up everything and you get less MPG.

I Kreemed the tanks on my Shovel over 15 years ago. The stuff held up fine and looked just like the day it cured. Longevity depends on application. If you skip a step ie...acid etch and\or failure to remove any oils that's what could happen. Damn good thing the screen kept that **** out, else you'd be throwing the carb out.
