I have a nice 97 electra glide that i have been through front to back. Everything is nice and tight and squeeky clean. 89' stroker with S.E. heads. Now my delima comes today as i am looking through craigslist like i always do and come upon a chery FXR. I have a sof spot for the fxr but have no idea the internal shape this bike in. Suppose to have ev27 and super E. Only 24kbmiles with the original buck horns. I would send some pics but the app is not workin. What to do.

My wife would have a **** if i had 2 bikes. Allready have 2 dirtbikes and a ski boat. She wants me to get rid of all the bikes.... Not going to happen but. 2 harleys in the same garage not going to happen either. I wish one of you guys lived next to me. That way i could " help you work on your bike" kinda thing....

Hell just buy it and tell her it's mine and that you're just storing it for me until I can come and get it!!!
I have one of each. A 88 fxr and a 89 fltc. I wouldn't get rid of one for the other. Two different machines. If I could only have one, I would keep the tour glide. Way better for longer rides. Paks to put stuff in and pretty nimble on its own. Nowhere near as sporty as a fxr though. A fxr to me, is like owning a jap bike with a Harley engine Super light and pretty racy. But I think overall comfort and usefulness the touring bike is the way to go
FXR is probably more fun but the bagger is more versatile.
Get rid of one dirt bike and replace it with he FXR that way your total number of bikes stays the same.
The bike you have is a known quantity. The FXR is an unknown and could have a lot of problems lurking that won't become apparent until you are already too far into it to turn back.
Keep the bagger. Modify it however you need to to scratch the itch, such as upgrade the suspension etc.
