Looks great on there. Did it all line up without much adjusting?

No it didn't line up at all. I had to move everything around a bit. The carb definitely sits deeper into the intake now. Not a lot but an 1/8" or so. Did you have to move your carb to get the ness on? I lined it all up first using the ness and it wasn't close to the SE at all before I loosened stuff. I thought that was odd but it's all lined up and tight now.

Only thing that I had to adjust when I put the Ness on, was rotate the carb a bit clockwise. Everything else was bolt on. Perhaps the Ness that you had for a twin-cam, was one of the problems.

Update. Took it for a ride and adjusted the mixture screw it works now. I'm at about 2.75 turns no coughs or popcorn in decel. I get coughs when I go 2.5 or less off idle. Feels crisper off idle. It still doesn't pull to the rev limiter though. You can feel it most in first gear pulls hard then drops at 4500. It's not as noticeable in 2nd 3rd because it's not accelerating as fast but it still feels to me like something's off from 4500-redline. I'm positive if I had a different module I couldn't rev this to 5500-6k it would never make it. So either my tach is very wrong or I'm overlooking something. I was expecting to hit the rev limiter hard.

I'm not a lot of help, but above 3000 rpm mine starts to get 'fun'. I have no problems running it up to the rev limit (Dyna 2000) in the lower gears. Actually kind of scary when it does hit the limit and the ignition cuts out... You'd have to compare your V-Thunder cam against my EV27 to see what the difference is. IIRC, the cam you are running is somewhere between an EV13 and EV27 as far a profile.

How is the 'roll on' in 5th gear at 3200-3500 rpm? The CV carb transitions to the high speed circuit around 3000-3200 rpm. You might look into what high speed jetting you have.

Finally road tested with aces&8s ignition module and it's like a different bike. Pulled hard til 5500 easily. No drop at 4500 at all. So my cam sensor plate was faulty but it didnt fail like most.

New problem. My ezjust mixture screw fell out 10 minutes into the ride.
