Another Trucklite vote here and you chaps will be thrilled to learn that those of us who drive on the correct side of the road, ie the left, can get them now with the properly shaped low beam pattern! I have all three Trucklites, although admittedly don't drive at night often these days. Anything can be retrofitted with a little effort.
If you have an old reflector, just bin it. They deteriorate over time, losing performance and a more modern one will give better beam shape. If you prefer to do that then buy a fresh E spec one, they're cheap enough, but buy branded bulbs, not cheap aftermarket ones. They are the ones that cause dazzle as you ride towards them, because they're cr@p and don't provide a decent beam shape.
I had the truck light, only drawback is that oncoming traffic can see it from an angle. So although you get good light output it lacks from a safety standpoint.
Go with a Daymaker or JW Speaker. More costly but worth it.
