Sooo , today for whatever reason I decided to run the tank down until I hit reserve, just to see how this new Sifton petcock would be and reserve amount. At 200 miles it sputtered,I reached under and flipped it,continued on with no interruption. Drove one mile on reserve to gas station and filled tank.
It took 4.2 gallons to fill. My new tank is oem style five gallon, (5.2) I think they say...leaving me about a gallon for reserve,(47 miles) ,happy with that, much better than the other tank. And that crappie $30 petcock I bought an tossed out.

WOW...... 200 miles to a tank of fuel and not even using the reserve? Impressive...... I can't remember the last time I got 160 to a tank and mine are 4.7 gl.......
I do have a Pingel on mine and you really need to be aware of where it's set. I used to turn it all the way to the stop in the on position and when doing so it will partially crack into the reserve. I have to be careful where it is cause a couple of times the bike started to spit and sputter so I switched it to reserve only to find that I already used it all up......
Wish I could get 200 miles out of a tank. I usually have to switch to reserve at only 147 miles. I have been to places where gas stations are so far apart that switching to reserve puts me in panic mode.

I've never had that problem with my Pingle.
However I recently had to have one of my Pingles rebuilt due to a problem that developed when switching to reserve.
Mine started to take a while (1/2 mile or so) to switch to reserve when the main started sputtering.
I think you need to send yours back to Pingle and have them rebuild it.
