Finished installing an Andrews EV-13 in my 97 Fat Boy last week, just in time for a week-long camping trip that started the day I was done.
Even with the bike loaded up with camping gear and the windshield on, I definitely noticed the extra boost. But now that I've been home this week and riding without all the extra weight and no windshield (my normal way of riding)... Holy hell, it feels like a new bike!
Can't believe how much more pickup it's got. Way quicker off of stop lights and responds to the throttle much more than I imagined it would. I'm no speed demon, but it's just more fun to ride (and it was already a fun ride).
Thanks again for everyone's help. Couldn't have done it without this forum.
Make sure you are running a free flowing air filter. The stock one is inadequate and a drop in k&n is also inadequate. Changing to the screaming eagle air cleaner complete kit made a big difference for me.
I have the EV13, a handful of support parts, and some very minor head work. The power is perfect for how I ride.

The bike already had a Screamin Eagle stage 1 kit from the original owner. I plan to clean the carb sometime soon since I haven't done that since buying it. And also ordered a Pingel petcock because I switched tanks and the fuel outlet is in a different spot now. Curious if either of those things will give an extra improvement too.
Niiiiiice! How is the sound of the engine? Any significant change in the mechanical noise?
I am curious what RPM's do you really feel the cam. YD
I asked my riding buddy after he was behind me if it sounded different to him. He didn't think it did, but I swear it sounds a little lower in frequency to me.
No big change in mechanical noise. I was going to use my original gear, but the machine shop I went to measured the new and old gear and said the new one matched perfect, so I went with it as is.
I don't have a tach of course, but I'd guess it to be around 2000ish and above that I really feel the extra boost kick in.
Thanks for letting us know how it feels and rides now. I have an EV13 sitting in its box and some S&S quickee pushrods ready to all be put in, but am wondering about the timer cover...do I need a rivet gun to put it back on? Can it be made to be put on with screws instead?
Anyway, good to hear the bike is running better. Let us know too if it makes any difference in the gas mileage.

I used screws for the timing cover. Can't remember what size they were. I'd found some instructions online for a replacement timing cover and just used the same size screws they listed.
Gas mileage seems about the same so far as best as I can tell, although I'll know more when I fill up next after having the windshield and weight off.
