Default Changing oils

I know it's been beat so many times but I was wondering what are the best oils for all three holes to help my bike run cooler? I want to stop and pick up the items and do my oil change this weekend myself.

is there any better place to pick him up at seven at the dealer.

I have no idea what oil would make your bike run cooler (if any will). My Evo doesn't run hot enough that I've ever worried about it.

true synthetic group V Ester oils are your best bet aka Redline, they have oil change kits. to defray the cost you can extend the change interval.

Think twice about synthetics in an evo. They tend to run a little noisy and tend to weep a little with synthetic as compared to conventional oil. Some don't have problems, but an evo does not really need anything exotic regarding oil.

Pretty much any good quality 20w-50 will work fine. I use Valvoline racing (VR1) conventional because it is easy to get and my bike seems to like it.

Do you have a temp gauge and find that your temps are running high? If no temp gauge, then why do you think you need to lower temps? YD

Standard answer:
VR 1 for the engine
Auto trans fluid in the primary
Synthetic gear lube in the trans

No temp gauge on my bike but it's frying the inside of my legs and started pinging. It got pretty warm here in the Bay Area.

Sounds like it is running lean and maybe you need a rejet. Is this a new problem? YD

I use Mobile 1 sys V twin 20-50 , Bell rays trans oil in the trans, HD primary. Thats just me. I have used in all 3 holes Moble1 and put 68000 no problems. I would stick the big brands like Mobil, red line, royal purple, Amons oil, Even the Hd stouf is not bad.

Sounds like you've got an engine tune problem, not an oil problem.

I have no idea what bike you have, how old it is, carb or FI, or how it's set up, so it's hard to make recommendations. The only time my bike has EVER "pinged" was when the VOES went bad, causing the timing to stick in the "full advance" position, as well as cause a small vacuum leak.
