Your battery can take the heat .. However if it is an issue for you check out one of our Crotch Coolers . We sell a lot of them to Softail owners as that oil bag under your seat get's very hot as well as the exhaust .. Any questions just give us a call ..

Keep in mind that running the oil too cool isn't good either. If the oil doesn't get at least to 180 or so, moisture will tend to accumulate in the oil. With no oil cooler, my oil temp at the tank will stabilize at 100-105 over the ambient air temperature. The only time I've ever seen the temperature get over 200 is if I'm stuck in traffic on a hot day (a situation I take great pains to avoid).

Get yourself a dipstick with a thermometer. Sometimes that can tell you things.
What model antigravity battery are you using?
