Starter relay?

That's Good to know. Probably do that once I put the new 1.4 Kw starter in. My starter contacts are deeply grooved. Thanks

Once I get the new starter in Ill have the old one rebuilt for a back up.

Any good auto electric rebuilding shop will be able to rebuild the old starter.

Replacing the relay every year or two seems a bit excessive, even for an EVO. Check all your wires, connections, etc... A bad conductor can tax a relay and shorten its life. Going with a new starter is a good move IMO.

You do realize that this is the EVO forum, don't you?
People who ride Twinkies shouldn't throw bricks at EVOs.

Thanks, but I have already bought the starter. I'm going to install 4 gauge cables to. Getting close to having a brand new 97.

Im pretty sure my 21 yr old Evo starter is the culprit after seeing the contacts.
