Hello, I have a 95 Electra Glide Ultra Classic and I installed a 2012 Batwing on and it had electronic gauges so I have been figuring out how to make other gauges work, I ordered a tach and it says to route the Red wire to battery side of the coil and Green wire to Points side of coil and Black to frame, I have an Ultima Ignition in the bike and it has a tach wire that I have already ran into the Batwing, my question is do I have to route the Red wire all the way to the battery side of coil or can I just tap into a good power source in dash? Thanks for any information.
After looking closer at the tach it does not have a ground, do I just ground the bracket? It also did not come with a light so I'll have to dig through my gauge box and find something that will work

Are you sure there isn't a light mounted internally to the tach???
I'm willing to bet you ground it through the mounting bolts.
You have to have a ground for an electrical circuit work.
There is a very big difference in parts made in Japan from parts made in Taiwan...Just sayin
Much stuff that way back was made in Japan is now made in other Far East countries. Current Harleys come on Chinese wheels, for example! I haven't heard of any failures yet.....
