can you use amzoil synthetic oil in a 1994 softail
Synthetic oils were not in widespread use at the time your bike was made and you will probably find the advice, as given by Texas, is to use conventional oils, which tend to be cheaper and perfectly suitable. I use synth in my S&S engine, as that is what is recommended, but still use good ole fashioned dyno in my later bikes.
Oils get far too much coverage around HDF and there are more old wives' tales and nonsense written about the darned stuff that truth IMHO. Best if you create your own myths.....
You know, I read all these horror stories about running synthetic in an Evo. I was a little nervous but this last oil change I went with Mobil-1 20-50. Changed the oil and took off for Sturgis. I figured it will either be ok or a disaster. Actually seemed to run a little quitter than with Dino oil. Mine is a higher mile motor too. Best thing I would say is try it. You can always switch back.
