If you still have the stock clutch, the central 'spring plate' is known to break up. So remove the plates first and inspect them.

I'll put a $20 on stripped trans pulley splines.

Any tips on getting the nut off the front primary chain sprocket. I have heated it to 180 degrees and have a 18" breaker bar, and I still have not got it to come loose. According to a harley video that I watched, the front sprocket is right hand thread.

I used a piece of fence post on a breaker bar to break mine loose. I hear that an impact gun is no good as it may damage it.

The first time I did mine I had to use a 5' cheater pipe to get it loose.
Now I just use a rattle gun to take it off.

I just got back from Lowes, I bought a 8 amp 1/2 " drive Kobalt impact wrench, it came off with ease.
Thanks for the input.....

I've heard that too, but I've done it without damage. I'm pretty sure that's how the dealership does it as well. I'm

Everyone I've ever known has used a rattle gun on them if it was available.
