Default My little monster!

I got all of my parts back from hillside a week ago Friday and for her buttoned back up on Saturday. Fired her up and did the heat sink method before a took her out to seat the rings.

Once I felt the rings were seated I opened her up a little to so what she is made of. Wow is all I can say! I've got a few small oil leaks that need addressed, but other than that she is good.

My hat is off to Scott and they boys at hillside, as well as you guys for turning me onto them. I didn't get any photos while putting her back together as phones and wrenches don't work together for me.

This thing is an animal. I need to get some miles on her before I really hammer on it, but first impression is just wow. I accidentally picked the front end up when I got on it a little bit, she wouldn't do that before and it's something I need to be mindful of.

She may not be as bad *** as what some of you fellas have with your s&s motors or monster jugs. But I'll tell you one thing, for a stock bore I don't think I could have gotten much more out of her.

A new battery may be in order, the higher compression really makes this one sound tired. Other than that, I think she is done, engine wise at least.

Pics don't show much other than a few new shinies, it's all inside.

Here is what I ended up with:
- hillside heads
- 10:1 wiseco pistons
- woods w6h cam
-s&s adjustables, standard not quickie
- s&s tappets
-s&s reed breather
-s&s high flow oil pump
- thunderjet for the super E
- s&s high flow air filter, the taller one
-yost 1" carb spacer
- manifold machined and polished by hillside
- crusher power cell 2-1-2 exhaust
- stainless oil lines
- new nose cone pickup, mine was starting to goo
- new rocker boxes, chrome was peeling
- rocker lockers, I was sceptical but the do work
- machined rockers by hillside, they just cleaned mine up
- chrome tappet blocks
- b-138 cam bearing
- cometic gaskets with .30 head gasket

I may need to tighten up the push rods, I have them set at 24 flats .1 now, not bad but still a little noisy. I will get some pics when I clean her up she is filthy right now.
Eliminated oil pump cover to better show off nice s&s polished pump and oil lines. Got a new swing arm bag to get rid of saddle bags covering up swingarms.

I had to take quite a bit out of the cam chest at the rear lobe of cam for it to clear, and I filed down the tappet block for rear lobe based on Scott's recommendation. That high lift cam sounds awesome.

Scott had stated I should be somewhere around 85-90 ponies, and 95-100 foot pounds. There is only one dyno machine in my area, so I'm not sure if I will do a run. I think everything is set up just about right though, no pops, no sneezes, pipes look good. So I don't think I will need to get a tune.

W6H in a light bike should be a snappy little booger, it will still pull to 6200, trust me on this one. Great cam, the numbers on the build is proven for power and dependability. 80 inchers can take out big cubes so don't don't be scared when the big boys start bragging.

Maybe not hotrod. Either way the butt dyno approves. I certainly didn't do it to get numbers anyway, just wanted more than what it was.

It's a hell of a lot more than it was, so mission accomplished! I'll say it again too, that cam sounds awesome. The ultra sounds like a little 883 next to it. It will be next, probably something similar but I want to keep it injected. That will be down the road a ways though.

Here's a few pics of the engine. Not much to see except more shinies. Just got back from a quick 20 mile ride, still chasing a few small oil leaks. They are getting less and less, but I noticed a few things are loosening up. I think most of it was coming out of the breather bolts, they were barely in there.

I'm not sure if I love the power cell exhaust yet. It sounds like a mix between a 2-1 and a 2-2, just about same sound level as the v&h that was on there though.
