I can vouch for "THE WORKS" cleaner will do an excellent job. I can also vouch for don't leave it in to long as it will eat holes in what ever tank your cleaning. I did an old 16 gallon generator tank and left it in for 8 hours. Opps way to long! Red Coat tank liner fixed it right up!

we use the red coat today all the gray stuff has been pealing off in sheets past couple years

on flea bay

I believe Red Coat is the best, do two coats and allow to dry thoroughly in between.

so i guess the guys in toilet bowl cleaning HR got together and dropped the acid down to 2.9 it was around 14% so i used 4 gallons of vinegar with 3 cups of salt to make sodium hypochloride acid. . takes longer but wont eat my paint

I am between Metal Rescue and Red Kote... both seem to have pro/cons

I used the vinegar salt method for 2 weeks . My tank is finally clean!

1 week pour out 4 more gallons of white vinnegar with salt 2 weeks total . I removed the fuel sending unit and petcock and shake the **** out of the tank hosed it out X2 filled to the top. The drained thoroughly. Need added 2 gallons gas let sit . Drained that now has 3 gallons of fresh gas waiting on my exhaust to show so I can fire it up!
