Default starter issue

I'm having an issue where the bike may or may not start for no known reason. I press my starter button and the bike doesn't start and there's no noise. I've read some of the issues other folks are or have had and I wonder if the Starter Relay is the problem. Is that too simple a solution or does it need to be more complicated than that?

Generally speaking, when you push the start button, you're activating a small switch. That small switch sends power to the starter relay, which in turn sends more power to the starter solenoid, which in turn sends large amounts of current to the starter motor. It could be any of those things, or the wiring or connections between them. You can use a volt meter and the wiring diagram for your bike to follow the power and see where it stops going where it needs to go.

A good habit to have is to either put a pic of your bike in the signature line, or at least let us know the year, model.
This is not a rare topic. Start with the free and easy checks before you start throwing parts at it.

Yep grab a volt meter and find out where you lose power.

What bike do you have?
