Default 91 Heritage Softail Classic - Replacing Cam

Thoughts on EV46 or EV13? Or another all together? I want performance off the line with a good ride around town/short highway trips

EV13 - https://www.jpcycles.com/product/432-371
EV46 - https://www.jpcycles.com/product/432-373

Thanks in advance!

I`ve been very happy with an EV27 in my Softail.

Same here in my Glide, probably the most popular cam amongst us in here.

If you want it off the line then go with the 13.
The 46 needs high lift springs IIRC.
I've been happy with my EV 27 in my '95 Heritage.

If you should go down the path of requiring high lift springs,I have a complete set for sale with almost no miles on them. Just throwing that out there.

The EV 27 is a great all around cam for evo's.

Of the two, the '13 but swop the top and bottom gaskets for thinner ones when you do the job to tighten it up a bit.

'46 you going to want to start doing work on compression etc.

Or a Head Quarters 0024.

Another vote for the EV 27. Great cam for an Evo Softail!

I had the v thunder 3010 an it made my 99 fatboy a completely different bike...I think it's very similar to the ev 27...good down low but still has some top end to it. first time I rode with the cam I bounced it off the rev limiter a few times...with the stock cam I never hit it since it was falling off well before that.

EV13 is slightly biased for low to mid rpm with still plenty on top.

EV27 gets you a bit more on top at the expense of a bit less down low.

I have the EV-13 and a few things and can’t imagine my 80” relatively stock engine being built in any other manner for my riding style, needs, and usage. I am never looking for more anywhere.
