None it should be tight on the splines of the shifter pawl shaft protruding from the case. Can you see if the splined shifter pawl shaft are moving too? Or is the shift lever moving independently of the shifter pawl shaft?

it is tight on the splines. The whole shaft moves. My 2011 6 speed is the same but I can downshift it from 6th all the way to 1st at once.
Issue im having is most of the time if I try to drop 2 gears at once it'll go down one then it'll just miss no matter how many times I try to downshift. If I barely tap the bottom of shifter then try to down shift its perfect. Even if I release clutch between gears it does the same. It's like it's not coming back or sumn to grab next gear.
Adjusted clutch, chain, pawl in 3rd gear, cable. new shift shaft bushings, fluids. Clutch adjustment currently at 3/4 turn out.

The shifter pawl spring is giving up. I just went through this. It starts as this and then one day it just doesn't come back up. That's when the spring completely breaks
