PCV adjustments
I had a new map sent over from Fuel Moto for my PCV and was wondering
about making a few changes since it pops when I accelerate while up shifting
and also when I downshift. I know I can tell them and they would adjust it
and send me a new one but I want to learn and do it.
I know there are a few threads I read a long time ago from a few people that
know about these types of adjustment.
Can somebody give me some details about making adjustments to it.
Thanks

You are in the land of milk and honey also called Evo land 90% of us run a Carb. You may have posted in the wrong area on accident or I am mistaking. I have never heard if a power commander 5 on a fuel injected Evo.
Nope I'm in the correct land of honey
Fuel Moto has a PCV for FI evos, I've been running it for about 2-3 years now.
As of now it works, if it stops then I'll look into a carb for it.

Without a data logging system for a Powercommander map you are just guessing, Fuel Moto does so many dyno runs and adjustments they have a educated guess when they send you a map.
If you really want to try and learn, the best way but not right is to put a piece of white tape on the rotating throttle and a fixed hash mark on the handle. While setting still, engine not running, monitor the EFI live with a laptop, watch the TPS on the screen, turn the throttle and mark with the tape so the same TPS percentage on the screen matches the hash mark when the throttle rotates. Will also need a tach, you can ride it and when the problem area acts up, can look down at the tps position on the tape and look at the tach. Come back and hook up the laptop, look at the map in your bike, cross the area of tps and rpms on the map and that is your problem area but basically a ballpark without equipment.
The numbers on the map is percentage of fuel being added, 1 is equal to .1 afr added, if you put in a 10 for a example is 14.6 afr will be richened to 13.6. If it is popping out the throttle body under throttle it is lean, go to the targeted problem area and add 5 to 10 to see what happens, like I mentioned you are guessing like changing jets in a carb just more complex. You can send the changed map to PC5 but make sure you have the installed map saved before making any changes. Usual problem with canned maps is back firing out the exhaust during decel, add 15 in the 0 TPS from 1500 rpm's to 3000 rpm's takes care of the decel pop. If you accelerate and have the backfire, you may have to add fuel in a circle on the map before the problem meaning a tapered blend getting to the problem area. 2500-3000 rpm throttle roll on area is usually the problem area from being lean from engine load and heat, detonation can become active in that area which is is marble sound. Good Luck, my head is hurting now.
