What's everyone's opinion on a 5 angle valve job? Is it worth the money with the heads not being ported?

And if so how much do i sacrifice in the longevity department?

you don't sacrifice any life with a valve job. You might (on the absolute best) get about ten percent better flow and if your bike had a few miles on it before it's always a nice idea.

I was planning on having a valve job done regardless, i was just wondering if its money well spent to have them grind 5 angles instead of the normal 3?

It's totally up to you. I don't believe the factory is that elaborate coming off the production line however it has been proven to increase flow. Or should I say allow the flow to disperse from the seat quicker. Less drag..

I guess i will ask my machinist what the cost difference is and see what my pocket book thinks about it haha.

Hopefully my pistons show up this week and i can get my parts to the machine shop. Sonething about this below zero weather has me in the mood to get my bike back together......

Got my heads and cylinders dropped off at the machine shop so in the meantime i guess i can break out the soldering iron and fix this disaster.

Believe it or not this mess is how it came from the factory.

I didn't believe it either but the best i can tell its original. It even shows "splices" in the factory wiring diagram instead of plugs.

Anyone else seen this from a bike from this time period??

Ain't no way that is OEM wiring. LOL. Did you buy that off the showroom floor?
