Turn signal problems
Hi everybody, I'm restoring an 87 Electra Glide Classic FLHTC, that I bought in Nov. (also new Harley owner). Currently the handlebar switches are off. (I just put new chrome buttons on,.....) but anyway. I put new turn signals on the front, new flasher relay, and new hazard relay. I got everything hooked up today, and hit the hazard switch, and only the right front blinks ( the left front does nothing). And the rear flashers are both are dim, but blink. Any ideas, bad ground somewhere? How would I trace a bad ground, and why would it weakly blink? Could the rear signals be funked up? This was a basket case. I bought it from a widow of the guy who owned it. It starts and runs nice. It's just this last detail I'm trying to get over.

Do the turn signals work correctly?
Are you using standard bulbs, not leds?
Are the fronts using a 2 element (1157) bulb and the rears using a single element (1156) bulb?
To check for a ground, you should be able to hold one end of a wire to the outside/metal part of the bulb socket while the other end is grounded to the bike or the negative battery post.

You may want to re-read your post and edit/clarify what's really going on. First, you say only the LF flashes. Then the rears flash, but dim. Then, the LF does nothing? And you only say you turn on the hazards.
If you want real help, post up a better, more detailed description of what happens and what kind of lighting setup you have.

I don't have my controls hooked up as of yet. I'm waiting on some connector pins to get both sides of my controls hooked back up. I bought new buttons for the controls and I didn't want a big knot of shrink tube in those 2 harnesses. ( A last minute decision).
Bear with me guys, I'm a new Harley owner, and it's been 25 years since my last bike. I've renovated and restored almost everything else on her, she starts good runs good. I'm down to the last nit picky things.

I bought new turn signals for the back and front. The left side does not flash. I put in a new HG turn signal flasher relay, left side does not flash. I'll take a video and show you.

Not sure if this will be helpful but on my 89 Springer, I had a condition where the turn signals on both sides would come on but when I hit the left turn signal button on the left side, front and rear would not flash. Right side was fine.
First thing I did was wiggle the wires up near the turn signals, no change so I reached up under the gas tanks as best I could and wiggled the harness. The blinkers started working but when I let go of the wires they quit working. So I figured, broken wire or ground issue. Grabbed the Fluke and a test light and took the gas tanks off. On softails the wires sort of junction together along the frame so before I got started testing. I made sure the plastic plug was fully seated. It wasn't, i firmly pushed it in and everything worked.
I had the tanks off earlier that summer do some top end engine work and must of bumped the wiring harness.
Sometimes it is the simple things.
Good luck.
