Fix it now so that one day you can sell it or give it away and you know it is good.

I've never ridden a Tranny that was lubed with SeaFoam....sounds like a rough ride....

I say fix it but use a baker shifter pawl and drum. That way you have a backup for the other bike that's also an upgrade should the need arise

If you can swing the $, do it now cause you never know when your gonna find that perfect frame to put it in... Do I sense a build?

Well I do have that leftover 80" motor just sitting on the shelf...

See... There's a use for all of leftovers.... Believe it or not I've compiled enough parts to put together a nice rolling chassis with drivetrain....

That's kinda hard to believe. It always seems like you're changing/modifying engine parts. You & THC would certainly have enough parts for a complete bike.

Rob might but I have a ways to go to have enough parts to build a bike.
Since I tend to collect parts maybe someday I will have enough.

I am lacking a few myself but with a little digging in the bone yards it shouldn't be an issue cept maybe a title for registration....
But but then again who needs fenders..

You can get the same improvement in shifting by using a late model shift drum assembly, the one with the roller detent.

The moco started using these on the Softails in `00, the rest of the models got them in 2001.

A big improvement in shifting, I have one in my `89.
