Just wondering if it came out of a bike that had a radio. Some Speedometers had a White/Green wire from the speedometer to the radio. I believe it was for the reed switch that was used for the automatic volume control of the radio. Just my guess.
Before I pull the trigger, what are these wires for? This speedo is identical to mike except those wires, and the rubber dampner which I'm not too worried about...
The black wire is ground and the white/green one goes to the turn signal module for the automatic cancelling function.

Thanks THC. I had part of it right. It's the wiring to the speedometer reed switch which is used to raise & lower the volume of the radio according to speed on radio equipped models. I just never even thought about the input from the speedometer to cancel the turn signals.

Never having owned one I wouldn't have thought of that reed switch controlling the volume...It's what you're used to I guess.
Just out of curiosity how does the turn signal canceler work on the radio equipped models?
I copied these sections from the Wiring Diagrams & Electrical Troubleshooting Guide 1991-1992 All Models. From what I can see the REED Switch in the speedometer is used for both the Turn Signal Canceler & the Automatic Volume Control for the Sound System. Both sections mention the White/Green wire from the speedometer.
I guess I thought of the AVC because I'm on my 4th EG and I only owned 1 '99 Fatboy.
