Default Brake rotor fittment

Do the newer brake rotors for the 1" axle bikes fit the older model wheels with the 3/4" axles?

I know there'll be a space between the hub and the inner opening of the rotor, 2" vs. 2.25" inner diameter, I'm mostly concerned with bolt spacing.

Thanks.

Yes...most newer rotors have the larger size hole and a spacer so they will fit both....you can buy the spacer separately

Cool, thanks man. I keep seeing rotors for sale showing 2000 model year and newer, but I was pretty sure the bolt pattern was the same.

Neat little adapter, but I would pass. The bolts would hold it center just fine enough for me.

It would be wise to use the centering ring...

Woah there! Have you any idea just what energy goes into your brakes when you apply them? The hole in the centre of the rotors (and rear pulley) centres and locates them, the bolts simply hold the darned things on. Be wise and use a suitable spacer, there's a good chap!

Ok, I can see your concerns, but you do realize the only allowable movement is based on how much free space there is between each bolt and the rotor, correct? It's virtually impossible to move the rotor, rotationally or otherwise, past the allowable space around all 5 of the rotor bolts. I guarantee that's a hell of a lot less than the 1/8" of play that $10 spacer assumes.

Last time I put the bolts through the rotor they were a VERY slim fit with hardly any play at all. I also rotate the rotor that last thousandth of an inch before I torque them down so when the brakes are applied all 5 bolts are already in contact with the rotor so there won't be any movement possible.

Edit: and LOCTITE!
