Default Pingel vs Golan

Once again, I go to the brilliant minds on this forum. I'm finally getting around to replacing the stock petcock on my 95 Heritage. I've narrowed my choice for the new one down to these two brands. Any input on pros/cons ( if any) before I purchase I'd appreciate. Also, anybody have an idea on reserve fuel quantity each offers on my bike? My stock was about 1/2 gallon and I'd like to keep it that way if possible. Thanks guys

Both are adjustable to reduce your reserve once, but replacement parts are available.
I went with the Golan for the detents, Makes finding Off, On and Reserve easier without looking.

But a life time warranty is pretty cool.... They will rebuild it.. just pay shipping...

I would not buy the Golan. They leak from the reserve pickup into the outlet port, due to the way they are designed. If you're cruising at 55, it leaks enough to that you might never empty the carb bowl and force you to turn on reserve (it will empty the tank).

The reserve level can be customized on both, by simply adding an extension tube on the pickup (or cutting down the stock tube). And if you think you need a detected petcock, Pingle makes one too now.

I have both, and I don't have a dog in the fight. I recommend the Pingle.

Can you please describe a bit better this leak you're talking about? I have the Golan, and I've had it completely apart numerous times and I can't understand how it can physically leak between the reserve pickup and the outlet port when the outlet port is completely sealed by the 3/8" o-ring and ball bearing.

I also have both, and I prefer the Golan design, mostly from the rebuild-ability perspective. Of course, I've only got the older Pingel, perhaps their design has improved.

General section has oil threads.

Evo section has petcock threads.

Evo section wins.

I have both...I bought the Golan to give it a try and am completely satisfied with it.it has a very solid quality feel to it. I have run it down to the reserve level, switched and went about another 15 miles to refill.. I have also used the Pingles for years ..I wont say either is better than the other..I do like the positive stop/detent on the Golan. I also actually like the styling of the Golan better, it looks nice on the bike.
