I had issues with no reserve and running out of fuel with my pingel. If I put the valve on and turn it all the way till it stops, the port on the inside will crack open to the reserve port a smidgeon and will drain the fuel to the reserve level and run out. It's imperative to put the lever clearly in the on position and not past it.... I probably should send it back for a lifetime repair... Maybe next winter...
That don't seem right... my Pingel[s] have reserve [if equipped] in the Middle... On and off are to either side.... Pushed all the way to the Stop, I can't see being near the "reserve".. Is yours Much Newer or Older?? Betting Pingel would Replace that one for you..
Course... Possible Mine are the ones that are Older... ain't bought a New one in 20 Years!!!

I currently have my tanks of, so I will check in the morning..
Ok so I went to the shop tonight and checked out my Pingel. I was a little wrong. The problem is when it's on the on position it is still cracked for reserve draining my reserved and unfortunately I ran out of gas twice.. the video shows it best...
Hmmmm. I just slap the Booger to the Stop, and have yet to experience a problem...
Stop vs Detent???
I will stick with the Pingel.... But... they are in the Business and a Strong supporter for my Particular business!!!!
I also have both; the Pingel on my Buell and he Golan on my FXRP.
I recommend the Golan for two reasons.
1. Those detents are nice.
2. Pingel may have a lifetime warranty, but do you have the time to drain the tank, send your petcock back to Pingel, wait for it to get rebuilt, wait for it to get sent back to you, put it all back together...do you get where I'm going with this?
I have had both petcocks for about six years. In that time I have rebuilt the Pingel twice--I bought the very expensive rebuild kit so I could fix it myself--but I have never had a problem with the Golan.
